They would have to rebuild the entire game from scratch. The way d2 was made back then with dave brevik and company wouldnt work. It was already said that even if they wanted to, it would be extremely difficult. Dude would sell some good shit so i stopped the gambling and just did it when he was gold capped. I used to have my bot gamble but shit took forever and it was hard to code what stats i wanted him to save on such a random array. I mean, people call it "gold farming' even in games that doesn't have gold as the currency. There is only so many buyers still playing. It all still exists, but at this point it's not a market that can support huge investments in time or effort. It still exists, and people still do it, but it's long long past when it was a major thing, so a lot of the spam and botting has sunk to smaller levels. The potential for money making through gold farming is way past it's peak.
